yeah this. if katich were reinstated there would be too much pressure on him to repay the selectors faith, and he wouldnt be able to play freely. much better to use a debutant.

solid point, he'd probably cause too much discontent among the team and although he says he's willing to work with clarke, I don't think the general team atmosphere would be too good

+1, When Katich was recalled to the Australian team years ago that was off the back of some mammoth Sheffield Shield seasons where he absolutely dominated the domestic scene. He has had a fairly average season so far playing for NSW.
