RIP hayabusaboston
lol @ theind
you are such a tool
Wait, is the chick who got 97.3 with barely any study hot?
Because if she's not then what does it matter?
She probably is very bright, but there's always the chance she did more than you thought. Also, I'm sure you are surprised by how much information a bright student can retain with a night of study. (Despite it being exponentially more overtime)
ATAR 2011
AH 90 [5/18] MH 82 [3/12] LS 82 [16/25] HistExt 39 [2/6] Maths 91 [12/54] EngAdv 86 [28/67] EngExt1 38 [13/20]
ATAR: 89.50!
Commerce and Arts (96.30 Cut-off)
UNSW 2012
Planned majors in Finance, Accounting and Economics. Applied transfer for Commerce and Economics.
don't you find it less comforting? I don't find it comforting that a person who doesnt do work can get 97+ when the majority of kids who get 85+ put in consistent work throughout the year. But I do suppose it shows that the system is able to differentiate the brighter kids from the rest, meaning harder uni courses probably have more capable students.
I dunno...I could go either way with whether this is a could thing.

HSC 2010 accelerated: MX1 (93), MX2 (94), Physics (92)
HSC 2012: Chemistry, English Advanced
ATAR aim: plz >90 lol
There will always be people like that. At the end of the day, it's their choice to prioritise however they wish, it isn't really anyone's right to judge what one should/should not aim for in life.
Just stay ranked above them (which shoulnd't be a problem if they don't care) and they won;t affect you at all.

iq means crack all in hsc lol, as one american president said, persistence has solved, and will always solve, all the problems of the human race. Calvin Coolidge it was, i believe. Persistence is what gets you where you want to go, high iq is a gamble in the hsc if you lack persistence

IQ is probably not an ideal measure of brain power, anyway.
Personally, I do think that your raw intelligence DOES affect your HSC performance in some way but hard work can overcome this.
