Nah it was pretty easy, just emailed the lady who organised it and payed a week of rent deposit and that was it. I went to see the house last friday so I met one of the other girls then but no, just flatting with randoms. And places are pretty hard to find now I think, just cos the lady said that she has had a further 30 something enquiries about the one room that was available, and some people have been telling me that there's a shortage of rentals in newy, so i would recommend finding a place as soon as you know what your doing![]()

- what is the best way to get to UoN from Broadmeadow train station?
Last edited by PaterzAttack; 9 Oct 2012 at 6:32 PM.
not sure if srs
There's a train that goes to Warabrook, which is the university station. You'd need to change over at Hamilton (one station towards Newcastle). Check the CityRail map.
Buses are also a possibility, since the train station is pretty far from the Shortland side, which you will be spending most of your first year at.
If it's late, taxi will be about $60.
Otherwise, go for busses.
@both of you: http://www.131500.com.au/ works for Newcastle. Similarly, if you use the train, I suggest getting the smartphone app Tripview (there's a free "lite" version).
wow, so now we can enrol????? I'm enrolling atm for radiography even though PIES isnt till the 6th???

Why the multi accounts? Lol i already signed up for 2 subjects now, physics and the intro to health science profession thingy, as I'm quite sure i'l get credits for the other two.

How big the university? Like, how long does it take to walk from one side to the other? Because the physics building is on the very opposite side of the uni to the colleges gahhh
Also, what's the Hunter/Shortland thing?

Shortland is west, generally more focused on the Sciences and Business. Hunter is the east, more focused on the Medical and Teaching areas. Law is mixed afaik. Engineers stick to their corner, but are most likely to be on Shortland side or BOTH.
So as far as I know... the uni takes up the entire suburb of Callaghan? So would it take about 10-15 minutes to walk the entire campus length from the west to the east?

It looks like you enrolled in two of your subjects twice- you've got a double up for phys 1205 tute and surv 1110 prac. If you go in to my hub and click on enrolment, then "drop" you should be able to drop the duplicated subject. It happened to a friend of mine when she selected the same thing twice.
But If you're worried this won't work I'd ring up the uniGood luck
EDIT: just noticed you've got another clash on Tuesday between phys and surv.... Can you change the phys tute to a different time maybe?? Just go on to my hub, enrolment and click on swap, then select the tute time you want to change to (if there's one available- hopefully there is!)

That practical runs 3 times in the whole semester, you could have a clash there if you wanted and it wouldn't matter
also those physics tutorials are a waste of time, go to surveying lecture because there's no textbook for it and you can only go off what they give you in class
also i'm pretty sure the surveying tutorial doesn't even exist most of the time
Anyone doing Nursing im really exited to start and im so glad im local so i dont have to wory about moving out of home this year!!!!
