Some of them rip you off.

Pre Uni pays you $15 per hour as a starting rate.

These tutors did not work to get 99+ ATAR (though some scored lower) so they could get paid less than a 'checkout chick'.

What is it like doing bar work? Any experiences that you can share?

It is more entertaining than most service work. Easy work. Lots of interaction with different people. Late hours are probably the worst part. Pay is good, like $25 an hr maybe, double time on sundays etc.

depends where you work lol and what time they close. nightclubs stay open until like 6am etc. some pubs stay open 24hrs. some have to close at 12am.

Bar work is only good if you don't mind working while all of your friends are going out having fun haha. Also you have to have a fairly good sense of humor to deal with all the different personalities/levels of intoxication/aggressiveness (in some cases) that you encounter.

anywhere from free to upwards of $500 maybe
go to a tafe/community college and see if any group courses are being run

while big chain stores tend to provide hours, often casual work at small local businesses (like work as waitress or receptionist) pay quite well. i was a dishwasher at a local cafe and got $15/h at 17y/o
