    Nah not douchey at all man. You can't go wrong with an Omega.

    I bought a Tissot watch for ~$800 a few years ago when I started uni with the same criteria in mind. Not sure if the particular model is on sale anymore, but it's probably a brand you might want to consider. Still a Swiss manufacturer, but isn't really a "look at me" kind of brand. Also has gotten a few random/good comments which is pretty surprising.

    I was also given a Seiko Premier as a present. Not a Swiss brand but not that far behind IMO. Also pretty sexy.
