Did anybody go to the afternoon advanced science lecture? Hilarious!

Overall, I really had fun today and everybody was extremely helpful and friendly + some super cool stuff in the tents (esp.the materials science stuff). The windy nature of the day had some funny results though

I went to the open day today and I really liked it. Helpful students and staff, I've never even been to UNSW before and about thirty minutes later, I felt comfortable. Didn't mind the wind or the fairy floss queues Freebies was actually impressive, got a new COFA USB. I went to the lecture for Philosphy at 10:10am. Was good. It was a well organised event, had a fantastic time, it was very easy to move around, etc. All faculties represented themselves fantastically, (impressed by Engineering, Art & Media and Science).

Anyway, going there today made me realise the oppurtunities UNSW had. Really, I can pretty much do everything I'm interested in there.

Interesting day today. I couldn't roam around and do my own thing because I was contractually obligated to do certain things.

But all in all, interesting day.

Anyone come to the Extension 2 Tips and Tricks lecture?

Yes! You definitely were. The time constraints made if difficult for you guys - I understand.

I was at the front...the only one to know the coverup method for partial fractions (as if no one else knew??)

Re: The University of New South Wales Open Day - Saturday, 1 September

    Thanks, asianese! I try

    oh yes, time constraints

the other execs were giving me hand signals to hurry up

So if you went to the 1st lecture, I went too slowly on the first (easy) example - not giving enough time for dots and lines

And if you went to the 2nd lecture, I somehow also went overtime... probably because of the dots and lines method

Also if anyone asked why I didn't really encourage audience participation - it's because I had too much material to cover and I figured the... me asking questions and then answering them would be quicker.

Let's just have a one hour lecture with Shadowdude being the lecturer, giving his MX2 tips (Y)

I saw that handout, it was actually quite good. xD

That is one of the first things they teach you in first year math (or used to be anyway).

Obviously. I mean... I wrote half of it myself

Yes, but that's why the lecture was called "HSC Extension 2 Maths Tips"

it's supposed to be uni maths taught to hsc kids so they can use superior uni methods in their hsc
