Gen 3 brought in double battles, Gen 5 brought in triple battles and rotation battles(interesting game mechanic). Not sure what gen EVs got revamped. But there is also abilities, so things like torrent give extra power to water type moves, levitate means ground attacks won't hit the Pokemon etc.

To add to the above: Gen II didn't even have a proper EV/IV system. It was terrible.

Also, I recall that when entering and exiting doors, generation 3 changed all of that. Whereas in generation 2 and backwards, when you entered into a building, it seemed as if you just crashed through the door unhurt :P

Well yeah, that's what I meant by not being sure when EVs got changed. But they really did need a revamp, but at least gen II addressed the fact that psychic bitched everything up.

if you got white it's in your best interests to get white 2 and vice versa. the reason is the version exclusive pokemon will be opposite in both versions

Only Zekrom and Kyurem, most of the others are similar.

Probs getting Black 2 as I already have Black. Kyurem is the star of the sequels but iunno if its possible to get Reshiram/Zekrom still?

It's a shame the game is not on the 3ds, so much potential.
