Hi,
For the 2015 BOS Trial Q14b, the parameters of the hyperbola are the parameters given to an ellipse... how does this work??

It doesn't really impact the question, maybe if theta is a complex variable, so you get some form of hyperbolic trig parameter? Idk

P is not a general point on the hyperbola. It is a special point on the hyperbola with those particular coordinates (you could almost say it is a point of intersection of an ellipse and hyperbola with the same values of a and b - but the ellipse is not drawn out).
