hurrr... The probably most anticipated fighting game of the year is just a week and a bit away

(no comment to Tekken or KOF fans)

What is your opinion to the long awaited (10 years!) sequel?

It's a bit sad they dropped the teching system (tapping the forward button on the moment of impact the opponent's attack making their move nullified that gave you a window of opportunity to punish) from SF3 since they wanted to base the game more on SF2 Turbo style

From playing it in the arcade it seems that "juggling" is the new thing as I was watching a Ryu player launch his opponent in the air then following it up with his ultra move metsu hadouken

On the less technical side, the art looks simply stunning as I was worried about the characters looking "too buffed" but all was forgiven when I was dazzled by the ink trails that follow the character's fists and overall art and presentation.

Any SF veterans/current players/newcomers pumped for this?

blah, back to playing 3rd Strike to kill waiting time

I still prefer the Japanese boxart ._."

I played it on new year day in the city and
let me just be the first to say that
THEY COMPLETELY RUINED IT FFS.
IMO, because i am somewhat accustomed
to the EX and ALPHA versions, I thought
that it would be based on that.
Eg: Excel mode, Double super moves etc.
What happened to the pro characters
like skele or shadowgheist Dr. dark etc.
It's alright but THEY RUINED IT.
Well thats just my perspective on it.

shit is the most infuriating fucking thing to play with the shitty dpad on the xbox
Rofl, was just about to ask if anyone knew where to get one of the arcade stick combos.

Previous experiences with the N64 has taught me that normal controller joysticks do not last with fighter games.

might have to import them man, which'll cost a ridiculous amount of money considering the weak aus dollar and shipping costs. i for one am not ready to spend another $250 for a $90 game. no retailer in australia are offering the arcade sticks, though i've been hearing that the jb site are taking orders for those red street fighter sticks, dunno what the deal is. we're certainly not getting any.

we were supposed to get the fightpads which i would've settled for, but it got cancelled probably because of the red ant collapse. those are going for about $75 au plus shipping at play-asia.

i can play the game for half an hour tops until my patience runs out and my controller ends up bruised on the floor.

who's everyone using? just like every other prick online, i'm using ryu mostly when i want to win. playing around with abel every now and then

Yeah the tournament edition one is being sold, but I was hoping one of the retailers would grab the fightsticks. Might have to try play-asia, though I might need to get two >.>

that, or if you just can't wait the cheapest i've seen a retailer sell it is $99 at jb. you might be all out of luck if you're after the ps3 version, though
