Okay so does that mean that a raw mark of 68 gets moved up to 81? Which gives you a hsc mark of around 86?

No, not necessarily. It depends on the cohort (ie. the state), which texts you do, and how well you go in the AOS. 68 could drop to 58 this year; anything could happen, and it depends on how well everyone goes.

Wow english aligning isnt making any sense to me any more lol, can someone explain it? Im not getting what the numbers (particularly the exam mark one) are.

Edit: Also for example i mean see how they have aligned certain essay marks just slightly - is that the whole aligning process split up or are they further aligned?

Well actually the raw mark of 68 gets aligned to 85.8 (42.9/50), the middle step is aligning to compensate on different texts and modules :)

so different texts get different aligning? how are they suppose to differentiate between texts?
The markers come together and agree on which is harder and so which has better aligning.

No,

they look at the relative performances between candidates of each of the respective texts with performance to *i think* their AOS paper

Does that mean doing well in the AoS makes your advanced paper 2 align/scale better?

If everyone who does your elective does well in Aos, then your elective will align well.

And i'm pretty sure all subjects are scaled against english.
