Could someone tell me the difference between selection rank and ATAR. e.g. Bachelor of exercise-physiology at UNSW has lowest ATAR of 75 for 2020 and lowest selection rank of 85

From UAC:

Your selection rank is your ATAR plus any adjustments made by a university. Adjustments are used to increase your selection rank due to factors such as your performance in HSC subjects, the location of your school, or your eligibility for Educational Access Schemes

Would these adjustments be automatic?

Yes, they’re automatically given to the universities to process. Your ATAR isn’t changed, just your selection rank.
Thank you! How would we know our selection rank? Where do we receive it?

Basically if you match the criteria outlined by the uni you can pretty safely assume you got the adjustment factors. Let's say "If you live within the uni area you get 5 adjustment factors". Let's say you get a 90 ATAR. Your selection rank will be 95.

we don't see what our selection rank is, we only see our ATAR. But you can calculate your selection rank by looking at the extra points the uni gives, and then add it to ur ATAR to get selection rank

I don't think they do for schools. It's mainly if you get good marks and if you live in a particular area.

MQ does this for catchment and most (if not all) unis do it for rural/regional/disadvantaged schools.
