    med sci unsw

I'm assuming if a pilot program is running then at least provisional approval has been given?? I get the feeling UNSW is adopting an innovation-in-education front, we've had some talk of integration/collaboration with specialty colleges in future... Have I talked to you about this? Maybe. I...

    med sci unsw

I personally would not. At this stage, anyway. Year 4 would be your grad year or so anyway so it'd make just as much sense (apart from sense of security) to finish a med sci degree and apply for postgrad med.

Wanna take part in a Medical Experiment?

Pred does not induce gout. Yep, allopurinol may trigger a gouty attack. This is due to the reduction in urate levels (which is ironic because it is the high urate levels that are the cause of gout). This is why it is recommended practice to cover the introduction of hypouricaemic therapy...

    Gas Leak?

Does anyone know what actually happened up at BiolSci this morning? I was caught up in the commotion with the fire trucks and the ambulance and heard rumours about someone collapsed or vomiting. And something about a gas leak.

    Physics or Biology

I feel the need to say something here... It's true that biology may be more "applicable" to health sciences, in that you learn about cells and a bit of basic physiology and maybe even some stuff about disease. However, a couple of things: 1. Physics does not have "nothing to do with curing...

    Math1041

Oh wow! Had no idea about the existence of this thread. I'm in 1041. I hate 1041. The Diana woman talks too fast, and too much. If you mentally block out every second word coming out of her mouth, she becomes marginally bearable. I've just recently made a conscious decision to attend no...

    UWS Medicine 2007

Special Requirements: Not sure about other unis but everything was done for us at UNSW once we started the course, including vaccinations, registration with the medical board, first aid etc. I met Neville Yeomans the other day! He visited our department for Journal Club and we had coffee after.

Wanna take part in a Medical Experiment?

Nope, but there are a fair few projects running up at WW. Either way, I'd encourage all med students to take part in a project. For one thing, you'll all have to do research work at some point and it's a bit of a preview of what's involved. It may also be worthwhile gaining insights from the...

Wanna take part in a Medical Experiment?

Help medical researchers! We need you! Are you... 1. Male? 2. 18-40 years old? 3. A non-smoker? If you've said yes to all three, then you are eligible to take part in a medical study currently being conducted by my friend on the effects of antioxidants on blood pressure. The...
