possibly the smartest response to this question ever. Don't ask those types of questions on these forums, because generally people are relatively uninformed.
in my experience, the camp sells out within a week - definately a MUST for first years. If you don't go - you'll regret it. You will notice that the week after camp, all the people who went will be best friends and sitting together in juris lectures.. and then there'll be everyone else.. alone..

MULS (www.muls.org) will be setting up a used textbook sale online for first semester for any books (not just law). so keep your eyes open for cheaper textbooks.
