1. How many solutions for x^2+4x+4=0

This in the quadratic equations chapter and I have found one solution, which was x=-2. The answers section says there is two solutions. I know there is a method to find the solutions but I forget now. Like, a way to find out number of solutions. This is the very first exercise of the chapter...
2. Which points on curve are tangents horizontal?

y=2x^3-9x^2-60x+3 I have to find points where tangents are horizontal. If tangents are horizontal that means the gradient is 0? I'm not sure how to go about this. y'=9x^2-18x-60 is the derivative of the line. Not really sure. Do I sub in x=0? y'=0-0-60 y'=-60 lol, no idea.
3. Exact Ratios?

I need to catch up on some prelim topics and I'm kind of getting stuck on exact ratios I need to find the exact ratio of cosec(45) I get 1/sin(45) Which is 1/root 2/2 So you get the reciprocal which is 1*2/root 2 Which is 2/root 2, rationalize the denominator by multiplying both...
4. Study Guides

I plan on taking my HSC very seriously aiming for a 95 atar as you can see in my sig. What 'study guides' would you reccomend? I do -Ancient History -PDHPE -2U Math -Adv English -Business Studies -Biology I've heard of success one and cambridge checkpoints, couldn't find out much about them...

7. 50 internal/50 external for ATAR

Does this simply mean 50% of your atar is from trials and 50% is from hsc exams or 50% from all assessment tasks in year 12 and 50% from the hsc exams?

Hey, looks like to become a dentist I have to get a bachelors degree (preferably 3 years) and I can choose whatever I want, do some equivalent of a human biology unit and then do the doctors of dental at USYD. I thought this could be a good opportunity to do something I'm personally interested...
