    Plane Geometry

    < QPB = X + @ (exterior of triangle ABP) < PQB = X + @ (exterior of triangle LAQ) therefore BPQ is isosceles with PB=QB

    Projectile & Polynomial question

    ii) vy must be between -200 and -200 sqrt[3] and vy = 200 - 9.8t hopefully you can see why that is iii) 350 is the vector sum of the x and y components of velocity v = 350 when vy2 = 350^2 - 200^2 and vy = 200 - 9.8t

    Inverse Fuction

    since the derivative = 0, just sub in a value for x in the original equation and whatever value you get is the value for all f(x) for this question just sub in x=0 2cos-1(0) - sin-1(1 - 0) = 2pi/2 - pi/2 = pi/2

    Re: Maths Competition (4^3)^100 = 64^100 but (3^4)^100 = 81^100

    Inequalities

    if b = 200, n = 0.01, p = 0.0001 1/0.01 = 100 < 200 - 1 0.0001/0.01 < 1 (0.0001 + 1)/0.01 < 1 (if true) 1.0001 < 0.01 which clearly isn't true, so there's something wrong with the question I suppose the < a was meant to be < b? in which case you just add the inequalities

    Probability help needed.

    i) 6 ways to arrange the other 3, 4 ways to include kylie and jason, 2 ways to order those 2 6*4*2 = 48 ways 5! ways altogether = 120 2/5 probability ii) what exactly does alternate mean? iii) 8!/(4!4!) * 6!/5! 4/8*5/6 = 5/12

    Help needed on superannuation question

    S = 500 + 500*(1.09)^2 + 500*(1.09)^2 +... 500*(1.09)^10 S(1.09)^2 = 500*(1.09)^2 +... 500*(1.09)^12 S(0.09) = 500*(1.09)^12 - 500 S = [500*(1.09)^12 - 500]/(0.09) = $10,070 I think

    Probability help needed.

    probability of getting all pink ones must be less than 1-0.99 = 0.01 (4/5)^n < 0.01 log0.80.01 = 20.63 therefore n = 21

    Hard Inequalities Help

    x-1=(x-1)(1-x) / (1-x) if x=/=1, so they're not the exact same thing. Similarly, [1 - x^(2n)] / (1 - x) is the not the exact same expression as the one that the inequality gives, as it is not true for x=1. So for x=1 you have to use the original expression.

    Hard Inequalities Help

    a)1+x+x^2>0 x^2+x+1/4>-3/4 (x+1/2)^2>-3/4 therefore true b)1+x+x^2+x^3+x^4>0 x(x^3+1) + (x^3+1)>-x^2 (x+1)^2(x^2-x+1)>-x^2 true if x^2 - x + 1 > 0 (x - 1/2)^2 > -3/4 therefore true too tired to do the other 2

    Identity Definition - Advanced English

    is this a good thing for a definition? unless it's implied that you're supposed to include the things that shape a person's identity, I personally wouldn't include them quite as much (I'm pretty bad at english though)

    Australian Mathematics Competition!

    well for the bee question you would have to be sure that you can do D if you were using logic alone. I just made the longest one I could think of straight away, which was greater than B, and since C and E can't be done I concluded D. for questions numbered: 1. can't have 2 liars in a row...

    I = P/v

    you don't the know the P = IV equation? I = q/t, V = E/q IV = E/t = P you would use that to find I if you were P but not R

    I got 0 in my ext test

    well obviously that depends on the person. some would find those to be some of the easiest courses. though if physics still had the old syllabus I would probably agree about it being elite
