Court gives green light to "boobs on bikes" parade

should it be illegal for a 14 year old to dress in a way that could be considered to be sexually provocative?

    Integration Q

according to the syllabus it's a year 12 topic

Court gives green light to "boobs on bikes" parade

ehh unless I've missed something it seems that you guys are basically arguing aboutwhat 'moral' means... not too sure what you're hoping to achieve there does seem that way

    Integration Q

    oh didn't see that bit by rearranging the equations you get x2 = y2/4 and x2 = 4y2/3 with intercepts y=0,8 pi Int y2/4 - 4y2/3 = pi(y3/12 - 12/5 y5/3) for y=8 = 128pi/3 - 384pi/5 = -107.233 so volume = 107.233 your answer was close. got 32 instead of 128

    Integration Q

    x3 - 16x = 0 x = 0, 4 pi Int (x6/64) - 4x2 = pi [x7/(64*7) - 4/3 x3]4,0 =~ 153.19 is that what you got?

    Sites for learning math

What are some good sites for learning maths? Something easy to understand, with exercises etc. The main one I've come across is http://www.intmath.com/ which I quite like so far, so if there are any others like that that you know of, with different material, I'd like to know about them. Also...

    Opeth anyone?

I was a bigger fan of them a couple years ago, but I got a bit bored of them since then still, I'm gonna go see them in september

    Deriving a formula question

    dV = -bt.dt V = -b*1/2 t2 + K at t=0, V = 250 000 so V = 250 000 - 1/2 bt2

    10 most elegant mathematics formulas

    well I wouldn't really call sin2ø + cos2ø = 1 unique.. eiø = cos ø + i sin ø is pretty cool though

    Physics Olympiad

thanks. That's the question I did, but left out. It was an easy question though, so I think I should have left out a harder one, like question 16. Ohhhh well.

    Physics Olympiad

my graph didn't have a hump at the start. I think the question was implying that it was after the elephant had already lept, but I'm not sure. mine was: starts with high downwards force, then went to a high upwards force that gradually lessened (parachute opening), then a short upwards hump for...

    Physics Olympiad

I found it was mostly easy, and didn't really take the full 2 hours. + the first 4 multiple choices were basically the same questions as the '06 paper I did all the questions except 12, but I didn't hand in my questions 11 since I felt I did a poor job of it. I'm not sure whether or not that...

    Trigonometry

    cosxcos (x-(pi/4)) - sinxsin((pi/4)-x) = cosx(cosx/rt2 + sinx/rt2) - sinx(cosx/rt2 - sinx/rt2) = ( cos2x + cosxsinx + sin2x - cosxsinx )/rt2 = 1/rt2 given tan A = 1/3 and tan B = 1/4, where A and B are acute angles. without using a calculator, find the value of sin(A-B) tanA = 1/3 so sinA =...

    Physics Olympiad

I did it. It seemed a lot easier than the past papers. I probably screwed up heaps though. overall a pretty dissapointing test imho Which questions did you do?

    Real Numbers

I think it would be because the tangent of ex at x=0 is 1, whereas this is not true for any other number (the tangent of ax at x=0 is ln a]). The y value at x=0 will be 1 for the exponential function. The tangent of x+1 is always 1, and y=1 for x=0. So, if dy/dx is lower than 1 at x=0, as x...

    trig, thx

any magnitude? like, using taylor/maclaurin series  well, if that's what you mean there's a fairly simple explanation of it here: http://www.intmath.com/Series-expansion/Infinite-series-expansion.php

    Hardest Subject?

wtf why does your school expect you to know most of the periodic table? we're not even expected to know the lower number elements, and our teacher admits that he wouldn't be able to recite all the elements

    Fake HSC paper

..how? one line of working is just the terms for -2P/Q; the one before it just has each term in the brackets multiplied by -2 (except one has it written as -1(2 ) ehh nevermind..

    Quadratics

    2. 3x2 = 33 x = +- sqrt3 'Others to solve' 1. (ln x)2 = 2ln x (lnx)2 - 2ln x = 0 lnx(lnx -2) = 0 lnx = 0; x = 1 or lnx = 2; x = e2 2. (x-4)(x-5) - (x-3)(x-5) - (x-3)(x-4) = 0 -x2 + 6x - 7 = 0 x2 - 6x + 7 = 0 x = 6+-sqrt[8]/2 = 3+-sqrt2 3. 2x + 22-x = 5 x = 0, 2 by inspection 2x + 4*2-x - 5 =...

    Fake HSC paper

I don't really see how what I described requires high precision; it's just expanding -2P/Q a bit.
