    Momentum problem

the question asked for the mass of the load, not truck + load. truck = 2000, truck + load = 12000, so load = 10000.

    Applications of Calculus

    when t=2 ? dt/dtt = 12 - 6t 12 - 6t = 0 at max/min rate of increase t=2 when 12 - 6t > 0 t<2, when 12 - 6t < 0 t>2 so it is the max increase I don't really know calculus though

    Should English Be Compulsary Poll

pretty much that ^ leave it compulsary, but make it based more on linguistics - grammar and whatnot - with some general analysis and argument forming, rather than just being textual analysis (which should instead be the focus of just the extensions). also would make things easier for the...

    Math Q's Coordinate Geometry Help!

    I was referring to [2]a) too. Isn't b) 2 intersections? + in a), the working goes 10/(5sqrt2) not 10/5 sqrt2, right?

    Math Q's Coordinate Geometry Help!

I thought it would be just sqrt.2, so it has 1 intersection

    Math Q's Coordinate Geometry Help!

    a) the x's and y's refer to P(x,y) I assume. As P from the lines are equal, |2x+y-3|/sqrt.5 = |x-2y+1|/sqrt.5 so those equations are equal at point P. b) solve simultaneously to find A, 1)2x+y-3=0 2)x-2y+1=0 3)2x-4y+2=0 1-3)5y-5=0 y=1 x-2+1=0 x=1 as P is equidistant to the...

    Trig Problem

Does straight line ever refer specifically to a 090* bearing though? I'm not sure, but to me it seems as though the question isn't ambiguous, it's just that it may cause you to assume wrongly.

    Trig Problem

Nah. It was posted in the prelim section afterall. Just basic trig concepts. (though maybe you're thinking of a different topic?)

    Trig Problem

I'm not accelerated. We got this same question in class; I didn't think it was very hard though (it just depends on whether you see to use the ratios of x to y, which I straight away did). I don't think there is much to 'know'.

    Trig Problem

so you assumed the 230m was on a bearing of 90 degrees or something?

    Trig Problem

already did now can someone show me a valid diagram with a different answer? =/ in my working, to get the angle for the cosine formula (71)

    Trig Problem

84 is the right answer edit: I can draw up a diagram and stuff if you want can lyanmou, or whoever else was getting around 88 show me how they got it?

    Trig Problem

the question is fine just find the ratio of the distances from david to the pole at each point, sub into the cosine formula and then usual trig stuff

    Prove that if |A| ≤ |B| and |B| ≤ |C| then |A| ≤ |C|

    (leaving out |'s) A ≤ B, B≤ C let B = A + x let C = B + y C = A + x + y A≤ A+x 0≤ x B≤ B + y 0≤ y 0≤ x≤ x + y 0≤ x + y * A≤ A + x + y A≤ C *although, given this step you may as well just use A≤ B≤ C, so A≤ C edit: deleted below post since it doesn't apply, assuming cardinality is meant

    Permutations and Combinations help!

    I can think of two ways to do this question. First way: total cominations - cominations w/both refusing women (women A and B) Ch: 3W, 3M 8C3*6C3 - 6C1*6C3 = 1000 Ch: 4W, 2M 8C4*6C2 - 6C2*6C2 = 825 Total = 1825 Or, firstly treat A and B as the same woman, AB: Ch: 3W, 3M 7C3*6C3 = 700 Now, 3/7...

    Permutations help

lol, I thought it would be, it's pretty poorly written.. for 1a, firstly ignore the C,D,F. The number of ways to arrange the remaining 7 letters is 6!2! (as the A and B are together, so treated like one letter, but can be arranged 2! ways). Now, there are 7 places where the C,D and F can go...

    multiple choice questions

I do better in multiple choice. All of the answers are in front of you, so it jogs your memory more than a free response question - especially if you havent studied =/
