Ask for more feedback from your teacher. Go above and beyond to prepare yourself for different types of questions. But more importantly, make sure you understand what you are writing about (I.e. understand what the question is asking you to do!)

Apart from external stability and macro/micro questions, case studies are one of the popular HSC questions. Seeing as it popped up in this year's paper, it is unlikely you will get it again in 2013.

I would recommend grabbing Biology in Focus and Biology in Context and creating a concise set of notes on each dot point (including practical investigations) in dot point format. This will help to break down the information overload and therefore, the amount of memory work you need to do...
I would recommend sticking to supportive statistics and labelled graphs. Drawing tables can be very time consuming and that can be quite costly if you have poor time management in exams.
Only if you can build a comprehensive economic case study on any of those countries you mentioned. You will have to rely on secondary internet sources for statistics and history.
