Increased school leaving age - participation rate/unemployment

An increase in the school leaving age would mean a decrease in the participation rate and increase in unemployment right?

How to find the maximum velocity or accelreation?

For the first bit, you can either use first derivative and check gradient either side of the turning point, or you can use second derivative and check the concavity!

    Locus and Parabola

I find that with these questions your best bet is to graph them. So the general form for a parabola is: x^{2}=4ay From that you can determine the vertex, in this case (0, 0) but for a parabola with vertex (-1, 4) the equation would read: (x+1)^{2}=4a(y-4) The a represents the focal...

Alright thanks. Also, what do you think I should be doing in relation to final preparation?

    What should I be doing?

Apart from SDD, I've finished every subject in terms of content. I also just sat my trial exams and these were my results: English - 62 SDD - 77 Maths - 70 Business - 74 Economics - 66 I'm relatively happy considering I did minimal study. I pretty much only studied for maths and it was quite...

    Help Needed - Fiscal Question

You need to first understand what our fiscal strategy was in the current budget - expansionary, contractionary? From there, think about how it will affect unemployment, inflation, external stability, economic growth, income distribution and environmental sustainability.

    Sum of geometric series

I provided the answer in the OP, so 488281/5 is the answer, but I'm not sure how to get that. EDIT: That's right! Is that the only way to do it?

    Sum of geometric series

I am trying to find the sum for this, but since the series starts at n=2 the formula isn't giving me the correct result. I've tried doing S10 = (a(r^n-1))/r-1 since |r| > 1. However, I get the wrong result by a big margin. How do I evaluate questions such as this when the first term isn't 0 or 1?

    Derive f(x) = sqrt(9-x^2) + 4

    f(x)=\sqrt { 9-{ x }^{ 2 } } +4\\ \qquad \qquad \qquad =(9-{ x }^{ 2 })^{ \frac { 1 }{ 2 } }+4\\ \\ f'(x)=-x(9-{ x }^{ 2 })^{ -\frac { 1 }{ 2 } }\\ \qquad \qquad \qquad =-\frac { x }{ \sqrt { 9-{ x }^{ 2 } } } Is this what you mean?
