There is a list at the front of the course notes store which lists all the units that have course notes available, in alphabetical order :)

I think this requirement came into effect in 2011 for most subjects. I don't think its right either for the reasons you suggested, but what can you do? :/ I know that MKTG101 and HRM107 don't require you to pass the final (at least that was the case last year). One of my friends failed a unit...

I did ECON111 which most students find harder than ECON110. I never did econ in HS either but I was able to get a solid credit at the end. You need to make sure you stay on top of everything, try and do past papers if you have it available to you. If you are having a lot of difficulty seek help...

Oh no you certainly do an elective that is designated as a People/Planet unit. But your People/Planet unit won't take up elective credit points. So for example if you did BUSL100 as your Planet unit, you can do a unit that is designated as a planet unit(e.g. STAT170), and it will count towards...

Yes you can pick the People/Planet units anytime in your degree. They are technically separate from your electives.
