    Do you like it?

I had a great teacher who was extremely enthusiastic and it was really because of that I was able to enjoy the subject, he took the textbook and brought it to life. The most enjoyable part though irregardless was the fact that if you treat it like a history subject you start to enjoy it a little...

Should I get a job during Year 12?

Personally I would not get a job in Year 12 only because you are definitely entering one of the more important years of your schooling. If we're talking about improving time management you need something with less commitment, I recommend you sign up for charity events this year like the red...

How to catch up on year 11 general maths?

Year 12 General looks a lot like Year 11 General which is good news for you because you'll end up redoing everything you need when you start a topic before diving into the Year 12 portion. In my opinion( after teaching General Maths for Year 11 and 12) the topics I'd definitely learn to have an...

    Rankings in Year 12

Well I'd definitely consider top 5 for General Maths or Biology to have a very solid opportunity to score a 90+

How should you prepare for the English Advanced/Standard HSC?

    Bump for 2017 HSC'ers :D

    Notebooks or Binders

I would personally keep your folders at home so you can organise worksheets given in class neatly or any handout given to you. This way your bringing a notebook for every subject and that's all contributing towards a big and healthy folder by the end of the year. If you know that you need to...

Spirited away as a related text for discovery

It would definitely be a great text to use if you do your research and learn the academic significance of the text. I've heard of schools teaching the text as early as Year 8 so I don't see why it wouldn't be considered an academic text even if it is animated by any reason. Away explores...

    confusion of module c

You should be thinking about how quotes or key scenes in your texts are being manipulated by their respective author to achieve a certain representation. This is a line of argument that has to definitely be embedded in your essay rather than a flimsy statement, that being said you should be...

    Related Texts

The best extra text sometimes comes from knowing what issues your core text is targeting, you could by theory select any text as an extra text but if you're looking for some formula or method to having the best text it's good to deconstruct your core text in terms of main ideas and themes...

Will dropping to standard english affect my ATAR that much? (read)

If you're being forced to drop then that's honestly something out of your control at the moment. It does by theory make a dent in your ATAR as the potential for scaling from doing Advanced is much greater than doing Standard. That being said, if you're looking for an optimistic answer I'd say...

    Standard English to advanced English?

I've personally never seen that happen before but it never hurts to be persistent and proactive about things like this, definitely ask your teacher and unit coordinator and see what happens.

    macbeth essay structure help

You should probably aim for around 800 - 900 words and most likely have each body paragraph attack a new theme or argument, that means you won't really need to consider linking your paragraphs together in terms of ideas but just have 3 really solid points.

    essay help

Definitely think about a formal structure, I'd consider reading some of the band 6 essays floating around from previous HSC exams to get a feel as to how exemplar students are writing and the type of language they are using, in fact, you could even get some inspiration from the resources...

    paper one unseen texts

I'd recommend reading the question and looking directly for things that answer the question, after that point it's about reading the extract and then considering how it could link to discovery. A couple practice papers would be a great idea to build speed and confidence, especially if your doing...

If you've been sleeping in the AM's and waking up in the PM's it's probably a good idea to fix your sleep schedule :haha:

    Preparation for Extension 1 Maths

If you only have the cambridge ext 1 book I'm pretty sure chapters 1 -3 are all your Term 1 content stuff and that's plenty to work through the holidays. If you manage to finish that you're doing pretty good for preparation.

    AOS

5 and 6 marker questions are usually extended responses so be sure to use paragraphing in that section. The idea is to make a mini essay where you have 2 body paragraphs with around 2 - 3 quotes each.

    Memorise essays?

I memorised all my essays and written responses for the HSC which was about 13 in total (3 economics, 3 legal studies, 5 English Adv, 2 English Ext) only because I knew for sure I'd have a lot of difficulty in the exam room remembering how I wanted to structure my essay. So I'd say personally...

    Creative writing help

I would recommend finding a past HSC Paper from 2006 - 2008 if you want to get any solid creative writing questions on Journey. Even looking at other school's trial paper around that time for English is highly suitable. BUT, if you want creative writing ideas in general, I've had a lot of fun...

Picking 2 Unit Math - Should I drop to General?

Medicine is extremely competitive so you have to expect that they will try and make it difficult for people to get into it. The biggest barrier is a high ATAR and you have to understand that doing 2U might allow you to get a stronger ATAR than general. That being said, if you believe you're...
