i haven't studied Gattaca yet, however it is a set with Brave New World so i am certain i will be studying it in the very near future.
we're studying modernism. specifically, short stories. we've completed five essays on five short stories. i am not entirely certain what our AOS is however.
biding my time until we get the opportunity to study plath, woolf or capote.
why over-work ourselves? year eleven doesn't have much point as it isn't factored into the HSC exams (with the exception of maths) and it is pointless studying for the sake of studying.
i don't see how the tail-end of that sentence is at all confusing.
if you are really determined to do well, then by all means look over your notes IF you WANT to. not because you must.
there is no point studying hard, i do think there is a point in studying effectively, however.

i would choose plath or woolf. i am certain they both had manic/chronic depression and both committed suicide.
not to mention, they are wondrous to study and their works are orgasmic.
