Projectile Motion Questions with Quadratic Formula

You are allowed to use any valid way of finding the correct answer. If you do 4Unit, can I recommend you do it that way (from first principles) and create your equations for each specific situation. Not a lot of thought needed to do them, then.

Can anyone give me a model answer for this question???

Well, you're going to need to talk about: 1. The specific wavelengths of the lines in the hydrogen spectrum and where they lie (red blue green and Hmmm, forgot where). 2. How coloured light corresponds to a particular energy given by the equation with Energy and wavelength. 3. That excited atoms...

    Printing

Check those submission guidelines. When professional writers submit it MUST be one sided, double spaced, 12 point font with huge margins. It is about looking professional AND ease of reading for markers. They may get lost with which side comes next. Remember, they have a lot of these things to...

    Should Maths be Compulsory?

Not everyone requires the advanced type of mathematics that are covered in the HSC and Prelim courses. For those who struggle, why subject them to two years of torture? While I LOVE maths and would love to see everyone share that love, I know, realistically, that there are some people who do...

How relevant is Chemistry to an engineering course at Uni?

I did Electrical Engineering at Sydney Uni and first year was: Chem 1 Physics 1 Pure Maths 1 Applied maths 1 Computer Science 1 Basic Elec Eng stuff Pure Maths was basically 4U on steroids (very fast) and 3U was almost assumed. If you don't have calculus sorted and able to do it without...

What are the best tips you receive from HSC Physics revision lectures?

Exam Techniques Always use your reading time to completely understand the questions. Do the longer, written questions first; those that are worth the most marks and do the multi-guess questions last. If you still run out of time, pick one letter and put them all in the multi-guess. C is usually...

To all those who have exceeded the word limit and gotten away with it

The Summarie tool in Word is under TOOLS AUTOSUMMARIZE I am using Word 2003. I don't know if it will be under that in Word 2007 but I assume it would be in the same place. Look for "Autosummarize" in the help section of your MSWord program.

To drop or not to drop???

Hey Vanessa. Well, I agree that it is probably wise to make sure you are doing 12 Units going into Year 12. Then a whole subject will count for nothing in the ATAR (I assume they still calculate it on your best 10 units). But I would go with the dropping maths options, keeping bio and picking...

    med or dead....?

There are more ways into medicine than just a mark in an HSC exam. Don't put all your eggs in the one basket. Look into them all and don't kill yourself trying to attain something that you may just not get. And enjoy your last year at school. It's never like this again. And if you really...

Arhhh!! I struggle with circle geometry!!

There are two types of people - those who see the world and understand it visually and those who understand it in words. Geometry, particularly circle geometry, is good for the visual spatial thinkers among us. But basically you just have to try things and see if they lead you in the...

Who is the greatest mathematician ever?

If I didn't say Gauss I think my old Maths lecturer and NMSS lecturer, Terry Gagen, would have a fit. I'm pretty sure he sang the praises of Gauss (and Euler). But since Terry Gagen wasn't on the list, it has to be Gauss.

    Writing outside of lines?

The key to writing an essay in an exam booklet is to only write on every second line. (ie double space) That way, if you need to add stuff later or change it you have a whole line above which you can use.

To all those who have exceeded the word limit and gotten away with it

Come on you can do it. Bring it into the 7000's. The best writing is tight. Edit, revise and edit again. No good book has gone to print on the first, second or even 10th draft. Really sit back and ask yourself which bit is slow. Ask others to read it and ask them to be brutal and point out...

    Is it plagiarism if...?

The idea of the Ext 2 Project is to showcase your creativity. Using someone else's creativity as a basis for your story really does not fulfil the essence of the course. Certainly, you could use it to influence your new take, but I would make sure that it is new, fresh and VERY different.

    Theory of evolution

The scientific method dictates that something must be reproducible for it to be proven. Evolution, as a theory, is no more provable that creation (another valid interpretation of the available evidence - and the same evidence, not different evidnce). If you have been led to believe that...

To all those who have exceeded the word limit and gotten away with it

If the word limit is 6000-8000 then make it 6000-8000. You wil not get marked down if your story fits into that in any way. Do not go over or under. If you have too much, then you NEED to tighten it. Lose a character or lose description. You can use a tool in Microsoft Word called...
