think i got a chance at dalyell scholars with a 95?

probs have a chance with future leaders scheme. Try it anyway, and you just apply for that course via uac as normal

Which course should I do? Help please

Wsu. Ye prestige doesn't matter if you intend to do postgrad research in a better uni later on.

    Worth re-doing MX1 again?

Its not worth going through the same subject when he's already achieved high enough for an equivalent 99 atar if he smashes his other subs just as much. Repeating it again just to want to get a state rank will run him the risk of getting lower by stuffing up on the day? Imo its just a glory that...

    Worth re-doing MX1 again?

ye its up to you if you want to repeat it again but keep in mind 96 hsc mark and above in 3u scales to 99.95. So does 98 in 2u. So you're already safe and therefore should focus on equally smashing your other subs out.

Civil engineering: UNSW vs UTS vs USYD

Although engo is the best @ unsw, i'd recommend going to uts with your friends since it's easier to get to and you'll already be with people you know

    UTS Flexible 1st year engineering?

Can just choose that for now and transfer to a specialised field like civil later Ye can transfer from any course to any course providing your weighted avg mark is good first year. For eg can transfer from arts or music to civil engo lol

Commerce or Commerce and Advanced Studies

Not 100% sure but imo it really depends, if you're just barely scrapping by the course with just a pass, i doubt they would recommend the hons year in that case

    UNSW commerce

they only take into account for both atar and wam if you transfer after first sem. If you're transferring after a year, its purely how you go first year uni (excluding atar) and you'll get credited for a lot of the com subjects so that would take some of time off the extra year. Up to you tho...

Commerce or Commerce and Advanced Studies

you may as well do it with the adv studies, get an extra major, and although its a year longer the extra year is for honours. Up to you if you want to do hons, i personally would.

    Future Leaders Scheme

there isn't really a certain fixed atar concession for the degree through leaders scheme. Usyd with their alternate pathways just sets aside a few places for students with the scheme, that's how it works. So for law you would probably still need high 98-low 99 to be competitive, like depends on...

    Is this considered an offer?

lmao i got the same thing and after seeing the congratulations bit almost started freaking out
  14. captainneuro

Can you accept a scholarship+offer and cancel that later?

Yeah you can, you can cancel your scholarship if you've been offered to a different uni or don't wish to have the scholarship, but it says you still need to carefully check the terms and conditions

UNSW or USYD for Intl Studies

If you have EAS, you'll be able to get in through their 'broadway scheme' - saves spots for eas peeps that are up to 5 points under cut off

‘Bombed’ the HSC but did well in internal assessments?

can't really judge these things, depends how bad 'bombed' is. If your internals were that good, the lowest you'll most likely be on is band 5. 8 more hours and you'll find out

    State Ranks and Internal Ranks

State rank is based on overall hsc mark and internal ranks play a 50% role in your overall hsc so.. pretty important. It is possible to achieve state rank if you’re not first but with like being top 3 or 4 internals, but it’s obviously extremely difficult and is only seen in really top ranked...

    UMAT

the earlier the better. Besides the umat exams take place near your trials time, will have to balance both school study and umat study then an aptitude test assessing your critical thinking, problem solving, ability to understand emotions in people, abstract thinking etc. things that in a way...
