Choosing subjects for year 12- Bio or Ext 1 English

I recommend keeping mx1 till like half way through yr 12 (unless you despise it ofc), because i believe mx1 is hardest in yr 11 due to students having no foundation in the topics of calculus, perms and combs, etc. If you find advanced easy in yr 11 it will most likely be easy in yr 12.

Is 3 unit mathematics (ext 1 maths) that hard?

maths extension 2 (which you can only do in yr 12) and maths extension 1 both scale really well, provided you do a bit better than average. I would say that the focus of the higher level maths courses is more on calculus (the topic of calculus may seem daunting but it is just an extension to...

Is 3 unit mathematics (ext 1 maths) that hard?

when doing mx1 dont fall behind on work e.g. not doing hw for more then a week or so, etc. But since ur in yr 10 i suggest getting the extension 1 cambridge textbook off a year 11 and maybe starting some of the chapters, the first 4 chapters in the text book is at a year 10 level, but if you...

    DOES 2U COUNT?

if you do only 3u, 2u is out of 100 and 3u is 50. if you do 4u, 3u and 4u are both out of 100 each (so no 2u).

Please help. I'm stressing out. Regarding year 11 entry.

probably the same, but i reckon the schools won't consider your most recent report due to the effect of covid and the lack of assessments.

Please help. I'm stressing out. Regarding year 11 entry.

tbh, they only really care about the exam, unless you have like tons of suspensions and get like D's for all your subjects. Your reserve 10 would get you in to year 11 at those schools but the student population increases for year 11 entries, but you will probably still get in.

    1. fix the position of the S's at the ends, so its 5!x2!, the 2! is for the swap between the S's. 3. (a) to be greater than 400 the first number that has to be chosen can't be 1,2,3 so there are 6 possibilities for the first one and then there is 9-1 then 9-2. mulitply all those together for the...

    What is science extension?

So I was thinking of picking up science extension in year 12 as I like the Sciences that I am doing. Does science extension run like math extension where it is purely extension concepts or is it a different style/topic altogether.

    Is PDHPE a bludge?

if you didn't do PASS as an elective in year 9 and 10 and you have no specific interest in the subject it can be overwhelming as the teacher may go fast due to everyone doing the basic content during year 9 and 10, at least this is what it was like for me.

    How to improve physics

For physics the textbook questions are all fairly good to practice on and offer a wide variety of questions sets. Infocus, pearson's and jacaranda are all good from personal experience. The main difference between the textbooks and past papers is that there aren't as much multiple choice...

    Refractive index

For the critical angle you start the angle of incidence at 0 degrees to the normal (note the medium which the initial ray starts in has to have a higher refractive index than the medium that the light is travelling towards, you can do the opposite process for glass) and then you slowly make the...
