Well you just fill out the application form for Co-Op, then if they accept you get an interview, if you pass that you wait for your ATAR to come out, if that is enough you get the scholarship. For Co-Op you should untertake leadership roles and participate as much as you can with the community...

I think your teacher aims to make sure you have 'backups' just in case your not sure about one. Like Spiral said, some scenarios are different.

I would bet that a Mathematics student couldn't do all the questions in a general maths exam.

The results from previous years have no affect on the current year. Technically a 400's school could come second next year.

That's what I thought. Which is why I thought a double degree with maths would be better as Finance alone is too generic and needs something else to differentiate you.
