    Ashes Series 2009

Apart from Strauss (and Cook earlier), they all look awful. I reckon we can bowl them out for under 400 and make them pay for awful shots - especially from Collingwood.

    2008/09 tax return

Got mine back yesterday. $750, have no idea what to spend it on so I will probably just save it.

Lol no you don't. You are on a break, an unpaid one at that, you do not have to interrupt up your free time to assist in the store. That is why breaks are staggered.

    Sex Ed in schools

Discussion of anal sex would break down the stigma of homosexuality. Children are easily impressionable at 13/14, an acceptance of all forms of sexuality could break down barriers. The status quo of fear and loathing of gays needs to change. I know people at my school who were vilified for no...

    Sex Ed in schools

This really applies to sex, drugs - anything society deems inappropriate in today's youth. Ignoring the hypocrisy that generations have done precisely the same actions, there are a lot of benefits in positivity in supposed taboo subjects. In marketing, we talk about the need to encourage...

Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince

I never read the reviews until after I see the movie. Or record/book for that matter. Don't let the judgments of others influence your decisions.

Internet Piracy - Three strikes rule

From a musical perspective, I would contend that most artists would have no problem with pirated downloads of their music. As they receive a pittance from the record companies anyway per sale, the increased consumer exposure and subsequent concert sales would far outweigh the loss from lack of...

    Masterchef Australia

Whenever I see Poh, I think of that Mulan film. Chris is the only one capable of working in a commercial kitchen (even if he is arrogant, he doesn't crack under pressure), so it would be a surprise if he didn't win.

I was in Macquarie yesterday, it was ridiculously busy. The self-serve queue went halfway down aisle 1. Most were like me I think and were buying a few confectionery items there instead of the cinema (once you get out of school, you realise how busy school holidays are). They must be turning...

Should women be allowed to serve in the infantry?

She shouldn't have had to have been forced to join the army to gain citizenship. Surely she is a highly skilled migrant? In regards to the question, I see no need to discriminate on the basis of gender. Provided that those in the army meet set criteria, it really makes no difference. Given the...

I am talking in terms of looks. I am sure most of their sponsorship is performance related. Nike etc.

If customers aren't smart enough to see that there is no queue in x register, provided its light is on etc, then that is their loss. The only exception I would see is if a register had just opened while they were in a queue, then it would be acceptable to direct them there.

Women in the Workplace - Pay Equity?

Problem with womens tennis is its good players cannot be marketed off the field. The Williams sisters, Safina, etc are ugly. The attractive players rarely make the top 10. In grand slams, some people will go for the tennis, and some will go for a day out. The latter don't care about tennis, so...

Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince

You would have to assume the next movie will not be as interesting as this one, as it is purely transitional. I am assuming they end it at the point where Ron leaves Harry and Hermoine, setting up the Battle of Hogwarts in the last movie.

Also, you get an education discount by shopping at the Apple store which Myer and other department stores are unlikely to honour without serious bargaining.

Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince

That was a minor denouement. If they put everything in the book the movie would last 10 hours. There is close, and there is asking too much. The horcrux was the only major plot point missing imo, though I haven't read the book for a few years.

Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince

I went to a Silverscreen viewing, which was great as a) it was limited to 40 people max, b) there was no screaming school kids, and c) it had its own candy bar which was great as the queues were 20 deep in the main one. Words do not do justice for this film. From the opening London scene, it...
