Rudd plans to lower voting age to 16

Lol, cheap way to get more labor voters. How about raising it to 21? Most of my mates, when they were around 18 voted Labor just because their parents told them so. While most people who qualify for uni etc. can put their stuff together and actually think about who they are voting for and...

Should Muslim Holidays be recognised in Australia?

This thing keeps going and going. I do not see any reason why the majority should not decide this in their interests. If the christian majority does not like this proposal - so be it. It goes against their principles. Furthermore, I do not see any muslim nation being too tolerant if I were to...

    IMPORTANT - Youth Decide...

That site is moronic. It is biased to the max. How about some real solutions, such investment into: - Nuclear Technology: Some ribbons being cut on new nuclear power plant launches, mining and research - High-capacity batteries; Electric cars which will run off clean nuclear energy. -...

Should Muslim Holidays be recognised in Australia?

Ignore the Penrith patriots, they don't really help anyone.

Should Muslim Holidays be recognised in Australia?

I don't think we should have any religious holidays OR preferences, period. This way, we simply don't tolerate any particular ideology and these issues would not exist.

Should Muslim Holidays be recognised in Australia?

I don't want to get into debate about "things in Islam I do not like". But there are a couple of (general) principles in Islam that I particularly do not want to see in the society.

Should Muslim Holidays be recognised in Australia?

I thought the majority decided if we are a "christian" nation or not. Since Christians have the upper hand, doesn't this make Australia a Christian nation? I see more Christian schools, churches etc than anything around. Me being an atheist, I couldn't really care more if Australia was...

Should Muslim Holidays be recognised in Australia?

And if the immigrants culture clashes with the interests of the majority, what is there to do? I am not talking about just Muslims here, this goes for everyone. We must set a mark and enforce it to preserve the integrity of the society. Since Australia has somehow managed to create a better...

Should Muslim Holidays be recognised in Australia?

Get used to Christian holidays. Don't ask for more, such as this: Harvard gym tests Muslim women-only hours. Revealed: UK's first official sharia courts. I've met muslims who hate Jews. Everything else, is probably quite rare.

Should Muslim Holidays be recognised in Australia?

Freedom is great in textbook, just doesn't seem to work well in real life. There is always a group that will force their interests on others. Therefore, we must (pretty much) do the same to preserve our interests. Its just human nature.

    Aboriginal Intervention, 2 Years On

Intervention is necessary to at least try to control the child abuse that is happening within. At least from the ethical point of view. But does otherwise seem like a pointless waste of funds. I honestly would not know which button to press if I was left with a decision.

Should Muslim Holidays be recognised in Australia?

I think you sort of got my point. But, it is up to the immigrants (saying that an immigrant is someone coming to Australia at a current time) to assimilate. Demanding extra holidays does not help, especially since Muslims are already the most hated immigrant group (I am speculating here though).

Should Muslim Holidays be recognised in Australia?

Rofl. I wasn't even born here, but I know better than to come to this country and demand extra privilege and what not. This is why there so much hate directed at immigrants - because there is that "loud" portion that just has to refuse to integrate and force their way on others.

Should Muslim Holidays be recognised in Australia?

. It starts out small. Holidays. Then sharia courts. Then more, more, more .... The country who invites immigrants and gives them a chance should never have to bend to satisfy the interest of these minorities.
