    Tom Brennan Related Texts

My teacher gave us a bit of a list of related texts for Tom Brennan (some more suitable than others): - Pleasantville. - Vincent (shot animation) by Tim Burton. They were all the films we analysed in class; other texts included: -The Door by Miroslav Holub (Poem). - The Little Train...

    2011 HSC Prediction

Have to agree with both of you. They 'typically' do one and one from each section of the syllabus, but there's nothing saying that they must. Hope they be nice this year. n_n A generic Weimar question would be such a gift! I hope you're right on the money! n_n

General Thoughts: English Standard Paper 2

I thought the paper overall was a gift from the English gods, no weird text types we had to compose, and they only asked for one related text for Module A and C, and the questions were pretty decent. Loved Module A Distinctively Visual Question for Shoe-Horn! Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant...

    Witness Module B

Definitely a tricky question, took my little head a while to get around it and to think of some examples of individual struggles. Reading through the thread I discussed very similar aspects to everyone else here; struggles with John assimilating to the Amish culture, struggles with Samuel being...

    how much did everyone write?

Agreed with the Quality > quantity, I can't imagine how some people sustained clarity and coherence when writing at the speed of light. Mod A) 6 Mod B) 5 Mod C) 6

    Minoan Crete: Palaces.

If you check the Minoan syllabus it dictates that for any question they may ask regarding the towns of Gournia and Zakros that it would look at the economy, so things like the industries and the role of the two towns in the economy. I don't think it's too imperative to know architectural...

    ancient his EXAM PREDICTIONS

My teacher always emphasises the fact that Ethics hasn't yet been asked as the extended response question in P+H, and how some dot points have already been asked twice. I'd love an Ethics question, lots to write about and not a lot to remember, most of it is pure knowledge with some reference to...

    Sparta Government

I don't have as many sources for the Ephors of Sparta; though I had a bit of a dig and here's some I found: - P. Bradley - five ephors; possibly connected to the five villages of Sparta. - 'They in effect, ran the state and were the day to day administrators of Spartan business' - Welch...

Anyone know modern historians for Pompeii/Herc??

Oh yes of course, I was more so referring to Section II of the P+H Syllabus rather than section III, which is directed largely at the archaeologists of the sites throughout the history. Of course, you would want to know historians (well, archaeologists really) when the question is asking about...

Anyone know modern historians for Pompeii/Herc??

Andrew Wallace-Hadrill is superb for Housing and current conservation of the site. Ray Laurence is pretty good for housing in Pompeii, and also societal structure. Paul Zanker is good for the public and private life of people in Pompeii and Herculaneum. But you would more so be using...

    possible spartan questions?

Yeah the worst ones I've seen going over past papers were: 10/12 markers on Greek writer's views on Spartan Society, or 10/12 markers on the Art and Architecture. (Architecture's not too difficult to do, but ART - now that's a bloody pain!) But they could ask anything really; Government...

    Being overly-bias in evaluate questions....

Not generally. I was actually trying to get back to sleep, and was hoping studying would help. :P Haha. Though it failed, and I had to turn to Doctor Who as a last resort. n_n

    Being overly-bias in evaluate questions....

As long as you're using facts and other sources to validate your opinion than it's fine, and bearing in mind you don't go verbally bashing the opposing views, haha. Though it is good to refer to alternate views in your answer also.

this enough historians to know for exam question 1?

This. n_n You know plenty, the question will more than likely ask to only make close reference to one or two, so just pick the ones you are most confident with or which more suit what the question is asking. :)

Hahaha, no thank you. ;) Legal is bad enough for me, at least with the Histories I enjoy them a lot. n_n

is it just me, or does this subject have an insane amount of content?

I'm quite the opposite, haha. I think it's because I like Ancient so much more, I could spend hours leisurely studying Pompeii, where as if I go to study my national study for Modern it kind of drags on and on and on. D: Though content wise, I feel like there's less in modern. But my teacher...

Yes, it does. We're all stumbling through the truckload of information.
