We're supposed to spot check with another person, and I'd say that about 60% of the time we do. Whenever we need to spot check a register before someone leaves a supervisor will close them early and snap it with them (as long as its not too busy). If its quiet, we might get a few snaps done...

My store has a 15 year old supervisor (well she's now 16 but whatever), and we're a reasonably big store. It just comes down to whoever the CSM is and what their take on it is.
