subjects u did which didnt count, did u regret doing it?

Bio took up so much time for me, and it was no where near counting in the end. It could have been a very useful free period, well in hindsight anyway.

    The Pay Thread

Don't apply to only stores that pay more, rather apply everywhere, and enquire at an interview stage about relevant pay rates. Most HR Managers will be happy to discuss it with you.

Approx $8/hr if casual, $6/hr if part time

    Rules for Staff

I don't know about your store, but mine has several signs stating that express alerts are number one priority. I hope you understand that most of "those in charge of checkouts" (ie casual/pt supervisors) get NO SAY whatsoever when it comes to rosters. I always have an express alert on Sundays...

Yeah, I know. I was expecting to ask me for a password on the next screen or something.

    Tips for the Cashier

Possibly use some bullshit about not having a quantity button. The staff at woolworths don't, unless they are a supervisor. If she's the worst customer that you've ever had, be grateful. Just know that the queues are not your fault. Apologise to the customer for the queue, even if you don't...

I wouldn't be blaming the staff there - perhaps direct that to unthoughtful customers.

Just type the following number - 054678 - into the 'members' login. It works for me. That way you can poke around for it and look at it.

    Rules for Staff

To store manager: If you complain that we take staff out of grocery for an express alert, how about you take the time to learn checkouts, and then we can call you.

    Do you get Superannuation?

I got a contribution of $96 noted in my payslip from last week, which makes me wonder whether or not the contributions are only made like once every six months or so.

    Tips for the Cashier

YES Prevents the customer from claiming that you gave the wrong change, also allows you to make sure that you are giving the correct change. It also forms a part of Mode of Sale Assessments, if your store does them.

    Main round offers

Oh okay, I get what you're saying now.

    Main round offers

Late round offers can only be made if there are vacancies left in the course - ie, people reject the offers or if the course was never filled.

    The Coles Thread

Yes, totally online. I remember my local Coles having a sign up saying "Now hiring part time staff, visit the Service Desk for more information", yet they still directed me (quite rudely) to the internet only to find that there was no such ad available.

    The Woolworths Thread

I'm casual and my B/H always says 38 hrs, whats with that? HP: Check online every single day. I know that there are times when managers just want to hire one or two people, so they'll keep the ad open just long enough that they can get enough people to interview, and once they've got that...
