    The Woolworths Thread

I don't think you do. It depends. When you say office cashier, are you up in the office for the whole day, or are you just there after close? Because I (occassionally) do cashup/other close stuff, along with another girl, but we're only up there for 1.5 hours-2 hours max. However, we also have...

    08ers: thoughts on 09ers

I apologise for sounding as though I know everything, but your post did come across with sarcastic intentions.

    08ers: thoughts on 09ers

Personally, I do not see why someone who is aiming for 65 should be ridiculed. The person has clearly done the research on the courses they want, and is realistic about their expectations of themselves. It doesn't however, mean that they are incapable of achieving any higher than this. If...

    USyd and UTS open day.

I went to their "A Day in the Life of a University Student" morning, after that I was NOT going to consider them any further.

SOFT subjects (the easy way out) . Your thoughts?

While I agree that secondary education should be balanced, I don't think that people should be condemned for following their interests. Although, in saying that, I spoke to a university admissions representative this weekend who said that a good balance of subjects was preferable.

student teachers at the most inappropriate times

I agree, I have only seen student teachers at my school teaching Year 10 and below. This is, I think, how it should be. Although, we had a student teacher in English earlier in the year (only for about 2 weeks though), and although she was an inexperienced teacher, she had some perspectives...

    coles and myer :S

I would be slightly more inclined to take the Coles offer, due to the fact that its not a christmas casual position. I have heard many times that Myer has a tendency to not keep their christmas casuals after their contract ends.

open day at sydney uni - worth going?

If you're able to go, then go. It won't hurt. But don't fret too much if you can't.

    can i repeat??????

I agree. That way you'll have a tafe qualification, which you can then work with, as well as a pathway into uni. Perhaps another environment may be helpful as well.

    Subject selection

PE is the best subject for this purpose, thats why i took it up, with the intention of dropping for year 12. But I enjoyed it so much that i dropped it for about a week, then took it up again. So definately don't pick your subjects based on what you intend to drop. Just pick subjects that you...

    Studdy-ing

I'm one to write notes and practice essays out again and again, as well as colour code my notes. Reading does nothing for me, as I just zone out and find myself thinking elsewhere. I find I'm most effective for about 45 minutes at a time, and no more than 2.5 hours in one session. Remember...

What will your UAC preferences be??

Why the hell is it in your preferences? People who do things like this, just for their parents, need to grow a backbone IMO.

    Nervous Breakdown

No, they don't do this because the UAI is a rank, so that you can be compared with the remainder of the year 12 leaving age population of the state. But I don't know enough about it to comment any further, sorry.

Business Studies vs Economics (if you had to pick one)

I did neither, although I would have done economics if the class was big enough to run. So, of the two, I'd say economics.

Thats true, eventually even the non-supervisors harden up and learn not to take shit from customers.

    Organisation

I pretty much have a different system of organising myself for every subject: English - Each different text has its own display folder, and then I write on lined paper. They end up pretty thick, but I bought the better quality ones with more sleeves, so its allright. Maths - exercise book...
