Should I take up Ext 2

I think this can be said for all subjects, not just EE2. But, Marcquelle - I think that you should do it. What have you got to lose, you can always drop it if it isn't for you.

How much studying is too much ?

There are differing amounts for everyone, but don't go straight to five hours (or however much you're aiming for). Rather, gradually work your way upwards. Also, remember that its quality over quantity. Find ways to make your study effective.

Yet you still shouldnt order your preferences based on UAI cutoffs. They should be ordered simply based in the order you would wish to receive them, with one or two at the end acting as a 'safety-net'. NorthRiversMatt, I'm not sure that I fully understand what it is that you are asking, but...

    Working while undertaking Year 12

This is true, the people who already have experience will be so far ahead of the others. In my situation, I've kept the job I've had since Year 10, but now only do 3-5 hours on a saturday. Its a good compromise because I don't have to work much, but still have a job to pick up heaps of hours...
