I've always been someone who writes notes, so I still do it out of habit. I usually try past papers after I have memorised the content, and I find that doing more of them does help with reinforcing the information. But if it works for you to try them open book, then that's fine too :)

I completely missed that bit haha. I was thinking that x would be 0 initially and when the ball landed, so I tried solving for t, completely forgetting about velocity etc.. :P
