Who has goals of going to Harvard University?

Well I really hope you will make it. It is beautiful here in Cambridge. Everything is so lively and everytime I walk into town I see something new. I haven't been inside the King's College Chapel yet but have been to the outside and it is spectacular. So much is happening here with renowned...

Who has goals of going to Harvard University?

That's a really long list... I think you should consider which universities are the best in your field instead of just hoping to get into any one of them just because of the name.

    Chem1031 & chem1041

I wouldn't recommend doing the two Chem together anyway unless you are very, very good in Chemistry! In some instances if you performed exceptional in CHEM1031 you will be allowed to do 2nd year chem in second session instead of 1041.

Overseas/local degrees and the job prospects?

No I haven't heard of Malaya University. However, it is not just degree itself that will determine whether you will have a good job prospect. As you have already mentioned, you need to be a well-rounded person and be active in your field. If you do all of those extra activities, you are...

B Medical Science VS B Science

Yes you can transfer from BSc/BMedSc to BPharm if you wish at any stage of your degree provided you have high enough scores during your university study. If you are successful in the transfer, you may also get credits for prior study so you will not have to re-take all the units. You need to...

Why is going to top-tiered universities like Harvard or MIT etc so difficult?

The MBA program from Nanyang is ranked 27th in the World this year according to Financial Times, slightly ahead of UNSW (36th). Both are lower than Oxford (16th) and Cambridge (21st) and INSEAD (5th). Business school rankings and MBA rankings from the Financial Times

I always space out my labs because many of them have lab quizzes and I wanted to study them before the lab. Having a second lab in the aftenoon may mean you only get 1 hr break to have lunch or to study.

UNSW Med Sci- Is there scaling?

By working hard and study. It's that simple. There are only 2-3 courses in which advanced/fundamental levels are offered throughout your entire degree anyway so it won't have much impact on your WAM.

what's harder, getting 90+ ATAR or getting distinction + (6+ gpa)

I would say getting a Distinction average is harder. At university, there is generally no scaling. For example, in HSC Maths Ext 2, you may get a raw mark of say 70% in the HSC exam but you may end up with a reported mark of 90 from aligning (Band 6). At uni, you get 70 (Credit), that's it.

UNSW Med Sci- Is there scaling?

Generally there are more people getting HD and DN in advanced level courses because, again, generally speaking, students who pick the advanced stream are usually more abled.

Can someone please explain to me...?

Because you missed out on the official cut off at both universities, you may be considered in a separate pool of students who are eligible for the bonus point system and have a chance to get an offer for these "reserved" spots. It is possible that whoever you were competing with had higher...

I suggest you look into postgraduate studies in America rather than undergraduates. There is really not much point doing undergrad over there to be completely honest. For postgrad applications, you will need excellent marks from your undergraduate degree and is prepared to do the Graduate...

    Med. rejection thread.

Even though you might be disappointed now, I'm sure you will find a Science degree exciting, especially towards the end where you get to specialise in an area of interest. When you become more mature in the next 3-4 years, see whether medicine is still what you want to do and go from there. Who...
