    engineering and science combined course?

The only real difference for the adv sci (besides like 1-2 subjects) is the compulsory honours year, which you can do anyways with a BE/BSc, prpvided your marks are ok.

    Engineering at Macquarie

That's not very nice at all. I wouldn't want to wish that upon anyone, especially someone that I've never met. How rude of you. I did, and gave examples of important leaps in human culture due to the progress in pure/abstract mathematics and physics.... That lead to realistic...

    engineering and science combined course?

yea my bad...things have changed a little since i started, you can choose science any science major, provided you meet the credits it seems stuff like maths and physics, or maybe chem might be easier to satsify cos you need cores from them for specific eng degrees.

    Engineering at Macquarie

...considering that both general relativity and quantum mechanics (probably 2 of man's greatest intellectual achievements) have been rigorously tested with experimental observation to back up the quantitative analysis? both used alot of pure mathematics. what about electromagnetism....(it...

    engineering and science combined course?

not always true i think, id check with the unsw handbook. some schools only offer a limited number of sci majors with the Beng... for example i think chem and civil only allow a Bsc in computer science....elec eng you can do maths, statsistics, computer science, physics. (Thats the only majors...

    Engineering at Macquarie

If macquarie is getting into engineering, they really should look to refine a solid Bachelor of Eng (Electrical) degree. They should, because macq uni is in a great location for that specific industry( as its surrounded by many private elec companies). I know i would have considered staying if...

To all the engineers out there...plz help

i really doubt aeronautical engineers would need to take into account relativistic factors with the design of aircraft. aeronautical engineers, are essentially mechanical engineers with a specialisation in aircraft and flying things. generally, (in terms of physics)- you'll probably need...

    maths 1a

complete bullshit. 35-40% of the course in maths 1A (the algebra section of the course, minus complex numbers) is new for everybody- not even extension 2 prepares you for this. yes, most of the calculus section is covered in high school...however this doesn't mean that you will 'struggle'...

    Sydney-Melbourne anyone?

if youre not interested, find something else better to do with your life and don't reply. better still, leave this board entirely as i find your posts annoying.

    MATH1231/1241 Exam

....i had chi mak:( however i found algebra (fingers crossed) doable...except the very last question, kinda bluffed my way through those proofs. there were questions taken from previous 1231 exam papers, if you did them. If i didnt look at the past papers (or read the yellow book)-...

    New gpa style

asylum, i wasn't arguing against the scaling system....i was merely pointing out the fact that macquarie ALREADY use a (from my own experience) generous scaling system...and to introduce another backdoor entry just seems ridiculous. (geez third year arts students who cant read properly) yes...

    New gpa style

as somebody already said earlier, a boundary has to be set somewhere...so no, your system is fair enough (probably too fair, imo), and you dont deserve grade adjustments. Popping up borderline marks is stupid (considering mq adjusts marks anyways, from my memory). It is unfortunate you just...

    Electrical Engineering

Thanks gman03, you put my mind at ease...as my subjects don't necessarily change at all this year (well the ones ive picked anyway)- i guess i wouldn't need to change my plan as such until im in 2nd year aye?

    Electrical Engineering

Hi, I am currently enrolling into a BE (elec)/ Bsc @ UNSW- however there seems to be a confusion As I am choosing my subjects, it says- Program- BE (elec)/ B Sc- thats fine... BUT...my plan says Plan- Computer Science Does the plan mean my science major? Because i certainly didnt...

    Pyschology at unsw

in my opinion, go to unsw- its closer, and you do practically the same material in 1st year psych from each uni. (This is coming from a person who did Bsc-Psych at macq this year and had a friend doing BSc (Adv- Psych) at unsw.) I would *think* that in an Advanced science degree you would...

    psychology vs psychology...?!?!?

an important thing for choosing psych degrees... make sure it is APS accredited...if it is- then it should not matter what course at what uni you choose (BA-Psy, BSc-Psy and BPsy (hons), along with other double degree courses at macq are all APS accredited) i think with a subject like...

On the topic of University Transfers...

hold the phone jack... i applied for a transfer from Macq to UNSW for next year however, i only will have 21 credit points (42 equivalent to NSW, other unis, etc.)...what will happen? cos i really want to transfer like based on recent trends, i know my 2004 UAI is more than enough for...
