    Extension 2 English Journal

Your Major Work and Journal is sent back to your school about three weeks or so into the subsequent school year, and you can collect them then. I'm going in to get mine sometime next week. Usually your Journal doesn't get looked at anyway, unless there are inconsistencies with the Reflection...

So how much did you pay for your books this sem.?

I spent $348.65 for mine, and that was after the member discount. Not too bad, and thankfully the Psych textbook gets used again next semester...

Any1 willing to swap times with Everyday life from 4.30-6pm to 1-2.30pm?

Also, check out the vUWS site for your unit (if it has one), and ask/beg on the discussion page if anyone is available to swap.

    How was your first day

Tutorial from 8-9, tutorial from 12:30-2, tutorial from 3-4. Can't wait to change that bloody 8-9 tutorial so I won't have to wake up until 9am.

    How was your first day

Eh, it was alright on Monday. Only had one lecture (English, Text & Writing), and there were a lot of people, but it wasn't packed down to the last available seat. The lecturer's really good (it was basically like an English Extension 1 class kind of atmosphere, only with 30 times the amount of...

    Tutes...

Not entirely sure; I emailed the unit co-ordinator today, just have to wait on her reply. But I think it depends on whether or not there're still places in the new Monday tute; right now there are five spots left. Just praying they don't all get taken up by tomorrow after 9am... I'll just toddle...

    Tutes...

I mean, the tutes for all the Arts units started yesterday. My tute for one of the units is on Wednesdays at 8-9, but I want to switch it to Mondays at 11:30-12:30 - if I do so, I'll have missed out on the first tute yesterday. Just want to know whether this is a good idea or not.

    Tutes...

So, had my first day at uni on Monday. My tute for one of my core units is currrently at 8am - 9am on Wednesdays, but now I want to switch it to 11:30 - 12:30 on Mondays. Wise decision, or no? I'm concerned I might've missed out on crap other than the unit outline, since I will have missed the...

So how many days do you spend in uni per week?

9.5 contacts hours per week, spread over Wednesday (tutorials) and Thursday (3/4 lectures) with a single lecture on Monday that I'll probably give up on after Week 2. Every other day of the week = sleep day.

    What do we bring

There's information on the Orientation page for each campus that concerns the social activities during "O-Week". :) It generally begins Monday, February 25th.

    orientation week

O-Week is more to do with social activities, rather than actually introducing new students to the inner workings of the degree. So it's definitely advisable to attend the Orientation on February 21st, as that is the Orientation session for your particular degree. Then you can choose to go to...

    Tutorial Registration.

It really depends what course you're doing, but that sounds about right as a round figure. Visit the UWS timetable page and click on the link "Timetable Week Conversion"; that should clarify things. Basically, Weeks 9-16 refer to the week starting 25/02/2008 to the week beginning 14/04/2008.

    Tutorial Registration.

I found that having just one window open was sufficient to be able to register for all my units without losing sight of any specific lectures/tutorials I had my eye on. But if you feel it works for you, go ahead - some of the units can go really quickly; it took about ten seconds for one of the...

    Tutorial Registration.

In the enrolment process, you select all 8 units for the two semesters of 2008. For tutorial registration, you only register for the Autumn session.

    Need help again (unit selection)

Have you tried emailing your course adviser or co-ordinator about it? He/she might reply in time for the opening of the tute rego lines for your schools tomorrow. I emailed my co-ordinator and she was extremely helpful in assisting me through enrolling for my course.

English is a waste of life.

Re: Anyone else hate English as much as me? :o Wish I'd had my Year 9/10 English teacher for Advanced. Would've made the HSC year much easier. :mad1: Ah welllll.

    Progress Feb 2008

There's no set amount that has to be done; really, the only thing that's expected is that you should have started by now. February last year, I was changing from my first idea to my second - I didn't actually churn out a first draft until around mid-May. That said, though, work hard, people...

    Question...

To be perfectly honest, as long as the markers can see that it shows the process of composition, they're not going to give a rat's ass about it unless there are inconsistencies in your Reflection Statement that don't co-incide with your Major Work. Just use it to stick any pieces of random...

English is a waste of life.

Re: Anyone else hate English as much as me? I think she means she's had the same "bad" teacher since Year 9.
