    Union Board Elections 2007

Re: The Official Union Board Elections 2007 Thread Just to clarify a few things about this whole affirmative action situation (context / disclaimer - I'm a card carrying feminist, and am good friends with both Alice and Vyv.) -Abi is not the only female candidate disappointed to not have...

    Online Readings Question

I am a huge nerd and logged into MyUni to see if I could have a look at what the readings are for a couple of my subjects this semester - I was under the impression that readings were a collection of articles or select chapters or whatever that were compiled and referred to in lectures. But...

    The Tempest as Imaginative Journey

Trisburger - what you've got is really great, especially for this early on in the year. Continue to investigate and pursue the interweaving of the imaginary and the real - this is the line I took with the Tempest, and it worked really well for me - it's quite adaptable to a variety of essay...

    imaginative journey essay help!!!!

The best place to start is to consider the speculative elements in your texts. Remember, when you're creating an argument, that your texts are your evidence - so you need to think of ways in which speculative process play a role in each text, and the extent to which they do. The Matrix...

    Related text for P & P

For safety's sake, pick texts that are about, or were composed, in the 19th century - your well contstructed rationale won't be immediately apparent to a marker, especially if it doesn't really come into your essay. Don't make things harder than they already are. Texts from other countries...

    Supp Texts - Imaginative

You've got plenty of time to change texts - there's still 9 months to go :). If you've got an assessment coming up, keep LSD for that, and just make sure you make really clear links with your thesis, and your core text. Originality is less important than quality, especially when this is the...

Anyone using TEEL?? + Where the Wild Things are

Try and find another text to replace Wild Things, if you have time - you certainly do before trials and externals. It gets done to death every year, and as this is not the fourth year of journeys, markers are well and truly sick of it. Some crackers that are not as widely used: - Eternal...

The Beatles lyrics as a related text...

It seems like a good idea when you first think of it (I had the same idea last year) but this particular song doesn't really allow you to analyse to the same extent you would with your average novel or poem - we had a lot of people in my grade who did poorly on the first journeys assessment...

what stimulus text to use for imaginative?

For all of you considering which stimulus booklet text to use, remember that this is the 4th year of journeys and, unfair as it is to you, you really need to start pushing the boundaries with original analysis and texts. Can I suggest, for anyone doing imaginative - Journeys Over Land And Sea...

What Subjects Are You Taking This Year?

I have 12 hours a week for four subjects - but I'm doing arts, which always has less contact hours. Science students and those doing more practical subjects (like yourself) will always have more contact hours because you've got prac work and stuff.

    Enrolment

..:"ooo , those were probably union/src fees, which aren't compulsory this year. I imagine the fact that union membership isn't compulsory is the reason that the union wasn't just giving out stuff this year - they don't have the money anymore.

    Essay writing

Whilst you should be writing enough to show a breadth of knowledge of historians and historiographical issues, 9 pages is no good if you are being repetitive - and in my experience, history extension students tend to be more repetitive in essays than others. History extension was my best...

SRC membership at Sydney is free in 2007, because the SRC struck an awesome deal with the uni. The union Access card is $99, and I'm fairly sure you can buy that anytime, I plan on getting mine during o-week.
