Official UAI Thread: Post your UAI's here

96.95 I had a "UAI 97+" sign over my desk to encourage me all year - .05 short of my goal! I'm not gonna nitpick though, I'm very happy :)

Are you doing an all-nighter for results? if so spam here.

Ummm, the studentsonline server went spastic, and logged me in as other people. I sat there as some Mohammad chap, and a Justine. WTF!

I just did the petrol station thing too, as well as a few convenient stores. They said to come back in 4-5 hours, so bugger 'em. I'm gonna read a book and hope I drop off to sleep. [edit - I only did 3 petrol stations and 2 convenience stores. You're a machine dafidav!]

Don't stay up if you have the choice, time goes way quicker when you're sleeping!

I'll probably drive around the city (I live next to it) and go to all the service stations and convenience stores in search of todays newspaper. Dunno really, maybe I should just read. Must pass time.

Your collection is endless! Took me like an hour to read them all! Thanks :) I'm going driving to kill some time, waiting sucks!

I had quit smoking before tonight! Stress, stress stress. :( I'm hoping for 97+, but 95+ is realistic. I'm gonna try to sleep, but it doesn't look likely. I'll probably read till 6am. Here's a joke; A bus full of ugly people crashes. All 20 of them die slowly. They line up to enter...

    You Assessment Marks?

Meh, most probably wont believe me, but I got 100% for the trial (independent) and every assessment... My teacher said it's never happened before :D I don't feel like I did as well as I could have in the HSC exam though :\

    Core: WW1

I thought this section was a little... weird. Interpreting that chart felt very mathematical to me, and kinda like year 8 stuff. The 10 markers were cool. Anyway *raises beer* Glad it's all over!

    Indochina

I did the first one, I disagreed with the view (who wouldn't), and said it was a combination of factors: Larger context of the cold war; US support for Diem & China/Soviet support for Ho American policy; containment, domino theory, etc Diem declaring no elections would take place Diem...

    That was kinda weird...

You only had to use it as the starting point, it wasn't like you had to sustain references to the picture and your interpretation of it... The picture for I&S threw me at first, but if you couldn't connect that to the elective you've been living under a rock... :)

How many prescribed texts do we HAVE to have?

I'm doing 5 related, but I only make passing reference to 2 of them to support ideas explored through other texts.

This Years Vs. Last Years Paper.. And Alignment

I hope you're right as I want a band 6, but I think this years paper was much easier than last years, especially question 10... :\

    question 10 a)

Err, wrong q lucy. If you're talking about 10)a)i) and ii), here's the connection; The integral of 1/x is Lnx, between a and 3a comes out to Ln3 (using log laws). The estimation using the simpsons rule was for the same area (a to 3a), hence Ln3 is approximately equal to 10/9. Stupidest...

The big ugly AAS reliability/validity question

Hrrm... I said the validity was flawed due to the fact they only tested one sample. I said samples from different depths/areas needed to be taken, as one sample doesn't accurately test the hypothesis. I said the reliability was flawed also, seeing as the same sample tested 5 times came up...

The big ugly AAS reliability/validity question

What did you write? Why? I'd type mine out but I've got to drive my dad somewhere, so I'll post it up when I get back! :)

    testing for phosphate ion

I put NH3 & Ba(NO3)2 because it forms a white precipitate with Barium ions in basic conditions.

now that you've done the exam what do you think you'll get

If I don't get well over 90 I'll eat my hat... There was nothing I didn't know. It'll all come down to errors in calculations and the fact I'm stupid. :)
