7.3 - Threshold, action potential (1 Viewer)

I've been having trouble with this point, there hasn't been anything about it in the Heinemann book that I have been able to see [1.7 is the nerve cell transmission chapter, yet it doesn't mention 'threshold' or anything about an action potential]. I've also looked through all of the other notes we've been given and there's nothing about it there.
Just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of an answer, or provide one? I'm totally confused about it, and we won't be learning it in class for quite a while. Thanks.

Full dot point: define the term 'threshold' and explain why not all stimuli generate an action potential.
