Actually this is a bit weird. All of my ACT friends got offers at UC and ANU in the early round.. But for my applying I got it in the main round.
I know in the ACT the school gives them their UAI at graduation night (a lot of people are upset on the night) so I assume because there are a lot less , UAC calculates ACT UAI earlier, thus unis can calculate their results etc to see if they are in... Not sure the exact reason..
