Has any one been given an assesment which involves doing an open end investigation on anything in the caring for the country syllabus? if u have give me details, i'm in desperate need of inspiration

Which investigation are you tlaking about??? Is it the one on soil compaction???

yeah it can be on soil compaction, or whatever else, u have to make up ur own investigation

Yeah, i know the experiment that you are talking about. I have one:
1. Find two or three sites in your area that show different degrees of compaction. Some examples might be a driveway, a footpath, an oval and a garden.
2. Cut the two ends out an empty tin and place it firmly over the soil of a sample site.
3. Measure 500mL of water and pour this into the can.
4. Start timing immediately and record the amount of time the water takes to enter the soil.
5. Repeat this procedure for each soil sample site.

We did a soil compaction one at school, much easier than that.

Get a spike and a tube. Hold the tube over the ground. Drop the spike. Measuere how far it went in.

I have the tin can one too! Thanx so much spleen... im using that experiment 4 my assessment because I needed 2!
