Hello, recently finished the HSC and was looking to get some spare change. Was wondering what are the chances of getting employed at this time as i'm going overseas for three weeks starting December 22nd...id imagine many employees would prefer otherwise.

Unlikely, as a lot of retailers have finished hiring for their Christmas period + the unavailability starting from 22nd Dec and your age will further reduce the chances (age being a bigger factor for the fast-food retailers).
However, it's still worth a shot to apply to places like JB-Hifi or David Jones/Myer as they might just be finishing up on their recruitment for Christmas Casuals.

restaurants love casual and on-call dish pigs, and citrus growers want as much workers as they can get and they pay quite well too, you just need to be physically able.
