School's over, a year off between it and uni, nothing except work seperating me from virtual boredom.

So I thought I'd like to join a choir somewhere. Something that is good and sort of fun as well, a nice repertoire... The thing is I'm not really sure what is out there.

I got inspired after having read in the Herald a few days ago that the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs are having a concert of the Fauré Requiem next March, in which the general public is invited to sing. (Though at a price, but I adore his Requiem so price is no object!). Registration etc is on their site.

So - does anyone know of a good choir that is worth joining/would accept people now-ish to join/to go on auditions? I've googled and come up with virtually nothing, accept the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs (for which I might go on an audition), and even though pressed "Web Pages in Australia Only" button still gave me the names of choirs in London...

Any names/knowledge of some choral groups greatly appreciated!
