So this woman is walking around, speaking in a foreign language and saying she wants to go back to another country and she so she gets deported. Now she expects compensation.

People need to start taking responsibilties for their own actions, whether or not they were in some way impaired or delusional at the. Any time someone does something stupid they hold out their hand.

I don't think she ever did anything to make anyone think that a psychological assessment was necessary. They made a logical decision. I think it's fair enough.

Those are unfair comparisons. I think most people are capable of determining whether or not someone is actually the queen of england. And Jesus doesn't need a ship, he can walk on water, and surely he could also fly or something.

Ok, in this recent case, she had an accident which left her with a brain injury which affected her memory. How can you blame her for the situation?

The Australian government should have conducted better ID checks... surely she was on the missing persons register.... as was Cornelia Rau. It was pretty negligent. What would you think if they did this to a child? I'm sure your opinion would be different, but in these situations the people's mental health issues have left them as vulnerable as children.

Cornelia Rau was on the missing persons register and they didn't CHECK?
Didn't check or didn't FIND her?

If they didn't check that's absolutely crap.

The problem is related primarily to the state of mental health facilities in this country.... instances such as these achieve recognition of the fact that at both levels of government concerted efforts need to be pursued in regards to providing support and facilities for the mentally ill in this country...

Take a look around the CBD and the vast majority of homeless and 'misplaced' people would have a mental condition of one form or another. The 'grassy knoll's' of Callum Park would in most instances be a much more desirable environment for these people to live a 'peaceful and relaxed' existence.

Full integration is not the answer, and until people stand up and dismiss such politically correct notions the problems of the mentally ill will continue to develop....

Cornelia Rau was on the missing persons register.

The problem was that Cornelia Rau was calling herself Anna Brotmeyer at the detention centre because of her mental health problems... so they didn't find the link.

I agree with the above poster, there needs to be more assistance for those with mental health issues.
