I want to know if any other cold war crisis like Vietnam and Korea had a big and varied impact on the development of the cold war.

And if so, i was wondering if people could outline a few of these.

afghanistan symbolised the end of detente
but i wud also say korea is of significance as christopher condon states " transformed the CW from a political competition for control of Europe into a global confrontation driven by ideology, and militarised to the point of threatening the survival of the whole globe."
