Not really. In chem any part of the prelim content that does get examined is part of the HSC syllabus too. For phys the prelim content isn’t examined and partly because much of the HSC content is just harder versions of the prelim content (like why test prelim mechanics when you can test HSC “advanced mechanics” mod 6. Lots of the concepts from learning about waves in prelim is used again in HSC when learning about the nature of light and again when learning about the wave nature of electrons in Schrödinger’s atomic model)
