I've the nagging feeling that if Howard wins this election he'll step aside and let Costello take over. After all, it's the only way Costello will ever make Prime Minister.
Does anyone else believe Howard won't serve a full term if he's re-elected?

Yeah I would actually consider voting liberal if Costello had taken over.

I will never vote for that power crazed hungry little monkey!

i don't think howard would let go of the apron strings too quickly, and i would never vote for costello. Tho on the other side things don't look good either, Lathams big noted himself by saying he'd go to referendum and see if we wanted to become a republic (just incase any of us wanted HIM to be president). But we all know hes the biggest liar in the country after beasly and howard... oh aquilina is in bed with that lot too...

Yeah, I can really relate to Costello...the whole english humour, mixed with 'get smart'. It's very appealing...reminds me of myself really...

Is there some unwritten law that all politicians must be unattractive?

Yes.

I would be the first non-unattractive politician ever.

Thread reincarnation! :p

I still stand by my initial post, which was made LAST YEAR.
Costello does not hold a majority as yet. I will vote for him if he ever gets elected as leader. :)

I'm sure that you know that it is the party's platform, not the leader, that one votes for, unless you happen to live in a leader's electorate, that is.

Yes, I know what you mean, that notion was hammered into our brains in HSC Legal Studies (I don't know why) but it's hard to vote for someone like Howard himself. He is, afterall, the figurehead/icon of that party. Costello on the other hand, is way cooler.

It will take a long time before Howard becomes unpopular amongst his collegues. :(

Maybe new ideas and policies will be made if a new leader comes on board?

nah his ass is too attracted to Kirribilli, he will step down only if:
1. He lose the election in 2007, and let Costello becomes the Leader of Opposition, clean up the mass he makes.
2. Somehow his popularity drops and Costello's popularity grows, although it is unlikely at the moment. The Libs wants him to leave and let Costello rules the party.

John Howard will never leave, he will stay alive just for the mere purpose of torturing me, just as my modern history teacher does. Everyday I hope he has fallen down the stairs and everyday he is there.

How about lets hope both of those fags aren't voted in????

If i had a choice between an aids infested, ebola spreading, weed smoking, psychopathic monkey and Howard /Costello...

I'd pick the monkey.

howard has become to dizzy with power to let go, ever, and sooner or later, he will fuck up. his luck, and trust me, a lot of his popularity has been luck, will run out. howard seems 2 have this amazing luck such that whenever things look bad, something worse comes along that doesnt involve him..... bastard

but, i would much prefer costello, he should quit as treasurer, and see wat happens, take the party down with him, because, honestly, after costello, who is there that people might even consider voting for? Abbot?? (HA! if any women vote for him i'd die of shock)
