I'm thinking of transferring into this course next semester. I need some opinions on the course from those who do it/have done it.

I do IT, but know a couple of people who do eBusiness or transferred into eBusiness after failing MATH135.

Its basically IT without the hardcore mandatory subjects (MATH135, MATH237, COMP225 etc), and some extra busines subjects. If you are good with the easier COMP/ISYS subjects you'l do fine.

All you need is dmath137 & 237. Don't need to go through the hurdles of 130, 135, 136(?), 137, 237 anymore.

If you've done math130 or math123 (I think that's it's replacement/NCCW) before you should be alright for 137.

Minimum for eBus is DMTH137. It has NO pre-reqs DMTH137, so the lectures refresh you on laws taught in other units to help those refresh their memories as well give those an opportunity to learn it quickly in order to understand the main rule/concept lectured. It will be majorly different to what you think and know of mathematics currently.

This is a subject I'd leave to 2nd semester or 2nd year. Don't do it in your 1st semester, IMO of course - it's much easier with friends and once you're use to what's expected of you. In fact, I think they only run it ever 2nd semester only. I could be wrong, because in 2010 it was 1st semester only which f'd a lot of people over.

I don't think anybody would mind, you can easily find this material via google etc: http://web.science.mq.edu.au/~chris/

you know what, looks like I'm wrong... eBus doesn't require any form of maths at all. I don't remember of that's new for the 2012 intake or what... but... lucky you!

For anyone considering doing it. I spent 80% of my time studying for DMTH137 in comparison to 200 & 300 level COMP/ISYS subjects.
