I'm a bit confused when it comes to readin an emission spectra and comparing two. what are we actually looking at? are we looking at the distance between the two coloured lines (the black part) or are we looking at the width of the coloured lines??? help me!:(

umm... what's this emission spectra for? are u refering to AAS coz if u are then there's no need fo u to knoe how to inteprete emission spectra...

The pattern will be the same on two atoms of the same type. So you compare both. But you arent needed to know how to do it you just need to know that for an atom the emission spectra is the same for each atom.
